Job Title: Associate Director of Web Technologies

Reporting Relationship: Executive Director of Digital and Performance Marketing

Unit: Central Administration

Department: Marketing Operations-Central Administration

Campus Location: Maxwell Center, Marion, IN (Hybrid Schedule 2 Onsite/3 Remote)

Summary of Position:    As Associate Director of Web Technologies, you will be responsible for helping establish IWU’s website strategy, ensuring it effectively communicates our mission, enhances the user experience, and drives engagement. This role involves managing a team, collaborating across departments, and delivering web solutions that support marketing, enrollment, and university-wide initiatives. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with two days in-office and three days remote.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of web specialists, developers, and content creators 
  • Assign projects, set goals, and ensure the timely completion of tasks 
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture 
  • Work with Leadership to develop and implement strategies for IWU’s websites to enhance functionality, usability, and engagement 
  • Ensure alignment with institutional goals, marketing strategies, and branding standards 
  • Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to monitor website performance and user behavior 
  • Provide actionable insights and regular reports to senior leadership
  • Work closely with marketing, admissions, IT, and academic teams to support university initiatives
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for web-related projects and questions 
  • Lead and oversee major web projects, including site redesigns, feature development, and platform upgrades
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships to ensure successful outcomes 
  • Ensure all web properties meet accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG) and security requirements
  • Work with IT and external partners to address vulnerabilities and ensure a secure online presence 

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

Experience

  • Five ore more (5+) years of experience in web management, with at least two (2) years in a leadership or managerial role preferred

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, CascadeCMS), web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and SEO best practices
  • Strong understanding of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and data-driven decision-making
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, delegate tasks, and oversee complex projects
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
