Job Title: Occupational Therapy Adjunct Faculty - Marion, IN

Unit: National & Global

Department: School of Health Sciences

Summary of Position:    Adjunct faculty for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program will be responsible for teaching pharmacology content to onsite graduate level students at the Marion, Indiana campus. The content is part of a course established within the OTD curriculum. The course meets weekly for half of a trimester. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for conducting lectures, engaging students in relevant learning activities, creating assignments, quizzes, exams while providing timely feedback to students.


Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

Required: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution

Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited institution

 

Experience

Required:

Work Experience: Clinical experience working in health care settings with a minimum of three years of clinical experience. Possesses knowledge of common pharmaceutical interventions used within health care. Experience working in an interprofessional team and understanding of scope of allied health care professionals

Higher Education Experience: Experience supervising, instructing, or working with graduate-level students from health care professional program; knowledge of common pharmacological interventions, side effects, and indications for use.

Professional Credentials/License: Current, active state-issued health care license in the state of Indiana.

Preferred:

Work Experience: Clinical experience working as a licensed pharmacist within health care settings

Higher Education Experience: Experience supervising, instructing, or working with graduate-level students in a health care profession

Professional Credentials/License: Current state license to practice pharmacy in the state of Indiana.

 

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of educational delivery tools to conduct lectures & learning activities
  • Demonstrated abilities to instruct and supervise and provide timely feedback to graduate-level students
  • Demonstrated experience in health care setting working with various health care providers
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft products
  • Demonstrated abilities with excellent written and oral communication and attention to detail
