Job Title: Instructional Design Coordinator (Part-time)

Summary of Position:    The Instructional Design Coordinator is an IWU-National & Global employee responsible for managing the training and development of adjunct Instructional Designers (ID). In addition, this person will identify and assign curriculum projects suitable for each adjunct ID in cooperation with the Project Manager for the Learning Experience Design department. This is a part-time position of ten (10) hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures all Adjunct IDs have been vetted and approved through all internal HR processes and have access to all IWU-related technology needed for adjuncts 
  • Identifies training and development needs that are specific to the adjunct ID role, including software tools for design work, and curates resources necessary for training IDs in the identified areas, or develops the training materials on his/her own 
  • Ensures each adjunct ID completes the training needed to fulfill the duties of his/her position 
  • Works closely with the Project Manager for Learning Experience Design to identify specific projects that are best suitable for each adjunct ID given each ID’s unique strengths and capabilities 
  • Provides a source of accountability for the adjunct IDs to ensure that they are accomplishing tasks required for their curriculum projects on time and to the quality standards of IWU curriculum
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred


  • Must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple administrative tasks effectively and efficiently, supervise staff, and delegate responsibilities to others

Required Skills

  • Embraces and clearly articulates the mission, vision, and values of the University
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and data management skills
  • Works well as a part of a team and values collaboration and team development
  • Well-organized and able to effectively manage multiple tasks at one time
