Summary of Position: A graduate assistant coach both leads a club team and serves as an assistant coach for an IWU varsity sport team (or provides similar work to the athletic department).
Duties and Responsibilities
IWU Club Team:
provide instruction to student-athletes in practice and game settings
serve as primary recruiter
lead discipleship opportunities
manage operating budget and equipment
schedule all practices and games
fulfill leadership opportunities for the team in any other way needed
additional duties within the IWU athletic department assigned as needed IWU Varsity Sport Program
provide instruction to student-athletes by showing techniques and working to improve performance during practice and games
provide feedback on individual workouts and group practice
assist in recruiting new team members and retaining current players
responsible for recording video footage, assessing plays
overseeing team travel
preparing for games
identifying skills and weaknesses
fulfilling other duties as needed
assist in leading discipleship initiatives
