Job Title: Business Affairs Project Manager

Summary of Position:    Serves as the financial manager of new initiatives, coordinating multiple departments in the creation of financial projections and strategies for the National & Global Administration. The Business Affairs Project Manager also supervises the Budget Systems Coordinator.


Duties and Responsibilities

The Business Affairs Project Manager will develop, plan, and coordinate the financial aspects of new initiatives for the Strategic Program Launch team. The responsibilities will be performed within the available funding guidelines and will be coordinated with several operational departments. The Project Manager must be able to work in a team environment to meet established plans and deadlines. In addition, the Project Manager will give support to the Executive Director of Budgeting and operate as a member of the Budget Office team. 

  • Coordinate teams from various departments to create financial proformas and analyze new initiatives.
    • Identify individual team members for each initiative
    • Set up meeting dates on a consistent basis to maintain movement on each project
    • Gather data to create financial proforma or analysis
    • Oversee creation of Business Plan documents
    • Coordinate teams to ensure timely delivery & approval of initiatives 
  • Oversee financial projects within the Budget Office and Student Account Services Office as assigned by the Executive Director of Budgeting. 
  • Act as the primary budget officer for Wesley Seminary.
    • System Set-up
    • Training
    • Coordinate with Wesley Seminary on budget timelines
    • Oversee budget entries
    • Coordinate with the Executive Director of Budgeting to create and review Wesley Seminary Annual Budget 
  • Assist Executive Director of Budgeting in year-end close activities 
  • Work with the Budget Office to address budget concerns and to promote University-wide best practices and consistency
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements
  • Perform duties as assigned by Executive Director of Budgeting
  • Supervises one Budget Systems Coordinator

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

Experience

  • One (1) to Three (3) years previous office experience

Required Skills

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with a variety of office technology—copier, fax machine, computers, etc.
  • Excellent working knowledge with word processing, presentation software, databases, and spreadsheets (MS Office, Smartsheets).
  • Experience with handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good working knowledge of budgets and financial reporting
