The New Student Onboarding Specialists assists all new N & G students with being prepared for a confident and supported start by introducing them to our learning management system, student portal and IWU email. The New Student Onboarding Specialists will also introduce students to a community of support and care that includes peers, IWU staff, and IWU faculty. New Student Onboarding Specialists are familiar with the challenges and obstacles associated with new students as they begin their courses at IWU and use that knowledge to help students successfully navigate the early days of their educational journey. The New Student Onboarding Specialists will keep watch on early non-engagement alerts and provide proactive communication and ongoing support to the students assigned to his/her community.

In this position, technical skills using current software applications and competency in digital learning asset development is expected. The key responsibility for the LXD is to serve in course development teams in the role of Instructional Designer (ID) leading the design and development of a course by collaborating with project stakeholders to align efforts with quality standards, adult learning theory, expected learning outcomes, and required timelines.
