Job Title: Bachelor of Social Work Adjunct Faculty Instructor

Unit: National & Global

Department: CAPS-Social Work (BSW)

Campus Location: Online/Remote

Summary of Position: Adjunct faculty are essential to providing a quality academic experience for Indiana Wesleyan University students. Adjunct faculty will teach core courses in the National & Global Bachelor of Social Work program. Candidates will educate adult learnings through the online modality Must be committed to work with students to help them be successful in the Pre-Social Work program; collaborate with full-time social work faculty to help students transition into the Bachelor of Social Work, model the NASW Code of Ethics, provide formative feedback, submit grades in a timely manner, and assist with collecting student evaluation data for accreditation if needed.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as adjunct-time faculty for the Division of Behavioral and Health Sciences.
  • Teach in the Bachelor of Social Work program.
  • Assist students to be successful in their BSW program.
  • Evaluate student work through timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Attend scheduled Adjunct Faculty meetings with BSW team.
  • Integrate Christian faith into teaching.
  • Seeking applicants to teach social work practice courses (with individuals, families, groups, and communities).
  • Seeking applicants interested in teaching and engaging students in field experience seminar courses.
  • Seeking applicants who can incorporate advancing technology into their teaching. - (Essential)

Education

  • Minimum of a Master's of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited school is required.

  • DSW or Ph.D. preferred

Experience

  • Two years of post MSW work experience.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated higher education experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learners.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of online educational delivery tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong technology skills for providing academic instruction.
  • Experience teaching a broad age-range of adults successfully.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with other BSW faculty, staff, and students.
