Summary of Position:    Indiana Wesleyan University invites applications for a Mathematics faculty on the Marion, Indiana campus. The ideal candidate for this full-time faculty position will combine teaching with scholarly endeavors, preferably involving undergraduate research and/or industry engagement.

The Division of Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science offers studies in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Statistics and serves approximately 120 students in these academic areas.

Applicants should show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, comfort with the Wesleyan-Arminian theology, and commitment to liberal arts learning and the integration of their vibrant Christian faith and learning. Rank and competitive salary based on qualifications.

Starting Fall 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teaching mathematics courses at all undergraduate levels
  • Student mentoring
  • University service
  • Scholarship and participation in professional organizations
  • Teaching load of 12 credits per semester

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Candidates must have an advanced degree in Mathematics or a closely related field
  • A Master’s degree is required, a Doctorate is preferred

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Prior undergraduate teaching experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage undergraduate research preferred

  • A commitment to teaching excellence within a Christ-centered academic community is essential
  • Demonstrates a mature personal faith in Jesus Christ and embraces the theological and lifestyle commitments of the Wesleyan Church
  • Possesses the interpersonal qualities and skills to work effectively as a member of the Indiana Wesleyan University Natural Sciences faculty
  • Willingness to learn and use our online course management system
  • Willingness to learn new instructional strategies and techniques
  • Skills for evaluation of the impact of teaching on the teaching-learning process and implementation of modifications as appropriate
  • Skills in interpreting and acting upon recommendations identified in course and program evaluation
