Job Title: Assistant or Associate Professor of Counseling - School Counseling

Summary of Position:    The Division of Counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University invites applicants for an Assistant or Associate professors of Counseling with a specific focus in School Counseling. Applicants should have an earned doctorate from a CACREP-approved program. Candidates should have appropriate licensure in School Counseling and, ideally, be eligible for licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (e.g., LMHC, LPC, LPCC). Demonstration of professional identity with the counseling profession is required. Successful candidates will show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, comfort with the Wesleyan theological perspective, and be committed to the integration of Christian faith in teaching and practice.
The Division of Counseling offers programs in Clinical Addictions Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling (MFT/C), and School Counseling (SC). The CMHC and SC programs are currently accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary teaching responsibilities will be in online and blended modalities
  • Additional teaching responsibilities may include teaching at the Indianapolis North Regional Center
  • Assigned courses will include core counseling and school counseling courses
  • Candidates will also have opportunity to develop elective courses in line with areas of professional interest and expertise
  • Job responsibilities will include an annual teaching load of 21 semester hours as well as student advising
  • Additionally, candidates with experience in program and curriculum development are needed
  • Applicants who bring diverse ethnic, racial, and gender perspectives to their scholarship and teaching are especially encouraged to apply

Education

  • Applicant should have an earned doctorate from a CACREP-approved program
  • Candidate should have appropriate licensure and credentials in the school counseling profession
  • Preferably, candidates would also be eligible for licensure as a clinical mental health counseling profession (e.g., LMHC, LPC, LPCC)
