Summary of Position:    Indiana Wesleyan University seeks applications for the Hodson Endowed Faculty in Entrepreneurship and Business. This faculty position, within the Division of Business in the College of Arts and Sciences, carries responsibility for teaching, student advising, providing leadership in the further development of the entrepreneurship program, exploring opportunities to expand entrepreneurship across the curriculum, develop opportunities for students to participate in entrepreneurial activities, and the development of entrepreneurship and organizational entrepreneurship internships for students on the residential Marion, Indiana campus.

The Division of Business offers six major programs serving approximately 350 students. With seven full-time faculty members, the division is recognized for its outstanding record of preparing students through internships, co-curricular experiences, integration of the Christian Faith into the various business disciplines, and discipling that leads to growth personally, professionally, and spiritually.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Hodson Endowed Faculty in Entrepreneurship and Business will be appointed to faculty contract with additional compensation for summer work and have responsibility for the budget associated with the endowment which is intended to support activities associated with the position. During the academic year, the Hodson Faculty will teach 9-12 credit hours (depending on the activities associated with the position) each semester and pursue collaborative projects with students, colleagues, and other entrepreneurial efforts related to student development in entrepreneurship and organizational entrepreneurship. As a full-time faculty member, this individual will participate in advising and mentoring students, advising a student organization, meet with prospective students, and serve on division and university committees, collaborate with peers and the division chair in curricular development. The candidate will provide leadership in the further development of the entrepreneurship program, explore opportunities to expand entrepreneurship across the curriculum and explore the opportunities for students to participate in other entrepreneurial activities and the development of entrepreneurship and organizational entrepreneurship internships. In addition to the entrepreneurship and organizational entrepreneurship courses, the faculty member will be expected to teach other courses within the Division of Business as part of their academic load. Rank and compensation dependent upon the candidate's education, experience, and qualifications.

Education

  • The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree, or pursuing a doctorate. The candidate must have completed significant graduate education, MBA, or other degree in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation. They must provide evidence of teaching effectiveness that demonstrates expertise in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation.

Experience

  • The recipient of the Hodson Faculty will possess an outstanding record of teaching, scholarship, and service appropriate to the rank of assistant/associate/full professor; effective organizational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills; a demonstrated understanding of culturally diverse approaches to business and entrepreneurship; and experience in establishing businesses, organizational entrepreneurship and innovation.
