Job Title: Multimedia Communication Faculty

Reporting Relationship: Chair, Division of Modern Language, Literature, & Communication

Unit: IWU-Marion Residential Campus

Department: Modern Language, Literature and Communication

Summary of Position:    The Division of Modern Language, Literature & Communication at Indiana Wesleyan University invites applicants for a full-time Multimedia Communication faculty position on the residential Marion, Indiana campus. We seek a creative and engaging educator who is dedicated to the ideals of liberal learning and an educational philosophy based on the centrality of Jesus Christ and the integration of faith and learning in instruction. The ideal candidate should show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, full agreement with the Wesleyan-Arminian theology, and commitment to liberal arts learning and the integration of Christian faith and learning.

Start date: Fall 2025, pending funding.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in one or more of the following areas: video production, audio production, media scriptwriting, broadcast performance, multimedia storytelling, documentary film making, broadcast performance, principles of communication
  • Engage in advising and mentoring undergraduate students
  • Participate in divisional committee work and assessment of academic programs 
  • Participate in curricular development for Multimedia Communication

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Graduate degree in Communication or related field required
  • Terminal degree preferred

Experience

  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level is highly desirable

Required Skills

  • Excellence in knowledge and skills in relation to the appropriate field(s)
  • Ability to stay current with industry trends to equip students with the skills needed for professional multimedia careers
  • Duties include curriculum development, student advising, research, and contributing to the overall academic mission of the division
  • A strong testimony of personal faith and commitment to Christ is essential, along with an agreement to live according to the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement
  • An enthusiasm for the Wesleyan tradition and ability to function well within a community hosted by The Wesleyan Church
