Summary of Position: The Front Desk & Testing Assistant supports the daily operations of the Center for Student Success by welcoming students and guests, managing front-desk tasks, assisting with student check-ins, and helping administer testing services. This role ensures a smooth, friendly, and supportive environment for students seeking assistance. A strong Christian commitment consistent with IWU’s Community Lifestyle Statement is required including agreement with the beliefs and practices of the Wesleyan Church.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate daily front-desk operations, including greeting guests and managing schedules
Deescalate crisis and support students in crisis until the Dean or a Counselor arrives
Assist students with paperwork and applications for services offered through the Center
Assist in the proctoring of paper and computer based tests
Maintain a welcoming, organized, and clean reception area
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
High school diploma required
Experience
Two (2) years of experience in office or reception operations preferred
Required Skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Ability to assess students in crisis and determine when to escalate support to the Dean or a counselor
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Willingness to learn new software and campus systems
Ability to work well with college students and create a positive front-desk experience
