Job Title: Assistant Bowling Coach (Part-time)

Reporting Relationship: Head Bowling Coach

Unit: IWU-Marion

Department: Intercollegiate Athletics-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Recreation & Wellness Center

Summary of Position:    This is a part-time assistant bowling coaching position at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. The assistant coach will be responsible for helping the Head Bowling Coach in the mentoring of student-athletes in a Christ-centered environment while upholding the mission and vision of the IWU Athletic Department. Primary objective is to assist in all aspects of the start up and building process of a new bowling program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will assist with the instruction, teaching, and evaluation of skills and development of the student-athletes 
  • Assistance with tournament preparation practice plan development
  • Scheduling 
  • Equipment management
  • Website updating 
  • Assistance with recruiting and overall spiritual development and discipleship of the student-athlete

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience & Required Skills

  • Need to be gifted in supervising and motivating others
  • Must demonstrate a mature and expressive Christian faith commitment
  • Need a positive and enthusiastic approach toward the sport of bowling
  • Must be creative and innovative; discerning and a thorough planner
  • Maintain a professional image and manner consistent with Indiana Wesleyan University’s mission and goals. Support the policies of the student handbook with integrity
