Job Title: Graduate Assistant for Softball (Part-Time)

Reporting Relationship: Head Softball Coach

Unit: IWU-Marion

Department: Intercollegiate Athletics-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Recreation & Wellness Center

Summary of Position:    A graduate works under a head coach to support a college level basketball team. The candidate must provide instruction to student-athletes by showing techniques and working to improve performance during practice and games, provide feedback on individual workouts and group practice, assist in recruiting new team members and retaining current players. He will be responsible for recording video footage, assessing plays, overseeing team travel, preparing for games, identifying skills and weaknesses, and fulfilling other duties as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to student-athletes by showing techniques and working to improve performance during practice and games 
  • Provide feedback on individual workouts and group practice 
  • Assist in recruiting new team members and retaining current players 
  • Responsible for recording video footage, assessing plays 
  • Overseeing team travel 
  • Preparing for games 
  • Identifying skills and weaknesses 
  • Fulfilling other duties as needed 
  • Assist in leading discipleship initiatives

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Current enrollment in a graduate program
