Job Title: Warehouse Inventory Specialist

Reporting Relationship: Business Manager

Unit: IWU-Marion

Department: Facilities Management-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Maintenance Building

Summary of Position:    The Facilities Services Warehouse/Inventory Specialist’s primary responsibilities are: Operate and maintain the Central Receiving process, Identify and maintain appropriate inventory levels for Facilities Services, Identify and expedite the procurement of supplies needed, and Operate and maintain the Inventory process.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain Central Receiving operation for FS and the campus as a whole
  • Perform receiving functions with respect to shipment, checking packages for accuracy, identifying appropriate departments 
  • Responsible for receiving shipments into system 
  • Notifying appropriate departments of their shipment and arrange delivery schedule 
  • Maintain Inventory for the Warehouse/Inventory department 
  • Performs inventory functions of onsite store rooms by receiving packages, checking invoice accuracy and packing, sorting and organizing inventory 
  • Inputting and updating Inventory in computer system
  • Maintains inventory transactions 
  • Receive and review inventory transactions for credits and returns 
  • Ensure that proper supply levels are maintained 
  • Order supplies and equipment 
  • Performs pick up responsibilities from vendors as needed 
  • Assist with tool crib operation 
  • Cross train and cover front desk as needed 
  • This position may be required to work overtime as directed by supervision

Education

  • High School Diploma

Experience

  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and inventory applications

Required Skills

  • Ability to operate forklift or become certified
  • Must have a valid driver's license
