Summary of Position:    The Nursing Simulation Lab Support Specialist provides support tasks for Pre-licensure Nursing Program including typing, copying, filing, scanning, scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, processing incoming and outgoing calls, and other related miscellaneous office functions.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact, warmly greeting students and visitors entering the Patient Care Simulation Lab
  • Proactively assist students and faculty using the lab; anticipate their needs in a friendly, supportive manner 
  • Equipment loaning management: Organize and maintain sign-out equipment, monitor returns daily, and contact students who have not returned equipment 
  • Inform the Lab Manager of any problems concerning loaned equipment 
  • Coordinate with the Lab Manager with researching needed supplies and equipment. Submit constructed equipment orders 
  • Maintain ordering/purchasing notebook and follow up with outstanding orders 
  • Maintain Student Time Tracking Computer and make corrections to student logs when needed
  • Compile monthly lab usage statistics 
  • Give assistance, when necessary, with operating other lab computers 
  • Maintain organization of the Nurses’ Station and provide assistance to maintain organization of the Simulation Lab: keep areas clean and orderly 
  • Put away supplies as needed 
  • Organize storage areas and assist in setting up equipment for classes and simulations

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience

  • Knowledge of computer and office machine use
  • Typing and data processing

  • Excellent and appropriate written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to professionally handle confidential information
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
