Department: Residential Academic Services-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Barnes Student Center

Summary of Position:    The Registration and Academic Services Operations Assistant supports the mission of Indiana Wesleyan and Indiana Wesleyan through attention to detail through processing essential documents and customer service by assisting all IWU-Marion constituents. This role serves as a hard-working member of the RAS team with professionalism and a high level of customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for updating all course section changes and covering the sections@indwes.edu email, along with other sections responsibilities 
  • Process all student program changes, including adding or changing certificates/majors/minors 
  • Assist in processing course exceptions (corresponding to major/program changes)
  • Serve as a front-line care specialist and help provide departmental email coverage, as needed for office 
  • Process student petitions and certificates for students 
  • Coordinate minor departmental processes, such as CLUP, AROR, incomplete grades, and reconciling departmental credit cards 
  • Update department forms and portal page 
  • Understand, facilitate, and communicate university policies to students, parents, faculty, and staff 
  • Assist students, faculty, and staff in processing and obtaining information regarding student’s registration and additional academic record forms 
  • Maintain position manual of all processes and position responsibilities 
  • Assist with creating more efficient and effective processes 
  • Assist with processes and projects/tasks within RAS as assigned 
  • Assist team with events, including New Student Registrations, Graduations, and other programs 
  • Serve as a support team member by fulfilling other duties as assigned by the Director of Registration and Academic Services

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred


  • High level of customer service skills through written and verbal communication
