Summary of Position:    The Administrative Assistant oversees the development, progress, management, and operation of the graduate and undergraduate programs in the Behavioral Sciences Department. The Administrative Assistant will also act as the field specialist for the undergraduate Addictions Counseling program practicum courses. In addition, the Administrative assistant will aid the Director of the Department of Behavioral Science and other program managers with budgets, faculty, and support services.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a high degree of teamwork and customer service through collaboration with other support staff, faculty, administrative faculty, and other administrators 
  • Serve students and faculty with a high degree of efficiency and effectiveness
  • Maintain a current knowledge and understanding of the content and course requirements within the academic programs in the Behavioral Sciences Department in School of Service & Leadership (SSL) 
  • Oversee the progress of the Addictions Counseling students during their practicum experience. This includes recording hours, answering student questions, and completing licensing forms 
  • Coordinate the operations of the academic programs and their respective directors 
  • Assist the Director of the Department of Behavioral Sciences in all aspects pertaining to the management of faculty, curriculum, and new program development research within the department 
  • Maintain up-to-date faculty files in our electronic database (Colleague, Etrieve, other)
  • Gather data for adjunct hiring within the Behavioral Science Department 
  • Gather and maintain accurate records, reports, and database entries as required by the Department Director 
  • Assist with any special projects assigned by the Director of the Department, program directors or the Associate Dean 
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
