Summary of Position:    The Program Coordinator oversees and manages the daily operations of the School of Teacher Education (STE). The Program Coordinator takes responsibility for planning processes and procedures that assist students and faculty in the accomplishment of program objectives and accreditation outcomes. The individual in this position must be able to work with and communicate effectively and productively with students, staff, faculty, and administrators within the IWU community and with external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages and monitors assessment data 
  • Assists in reporting processes for state and national accreditation 
  • Reviews and initiates technological systems to increase workflow efficiencies 
  • Assists with curricular and program review 
  • Directs the Teacher Education Program gateway process 
  • Maintains STE records and meeting minutes 
  • Oversees and manages allocated funds of the STE budget
  • Manages office equipment and orders supplies 
  • Plans and leads STE special events 
  • Prepares materials and strategies to promote the STE 
  • Fulfills occasional evening and weekend responsibilities as required 
  • Organizes and delegates office staff work load. Hires, trains, and supervises student workers

  • Bachelor's degree preferred


  • Two (2+) years' office experience
  • Expertise in data management and data-driven analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

  • Highly organized; ability to prioritize and delegate work responsibility to maximize efficiency
  • Self-starter; ability to develop processes and accomplish multiple tasks with little or no supervision

  • Resourceful: able to resolve problems efficiently and effectively
  • Articulate; ability to produce and engage in excellent written and oral communication with students and professionals inside and outside of IWU-Marion
  • Inclusive and Hospitable; ability to recognize and respond to the needs of students and colleagues
