Job Title: Director of Co-Curricular Programming

Summary of Position:    The Director of Co-Curricular Programming is responsible for the direct production, expansion, and strategic execution of campus-wide student programming at Indiana Wesleyan University. This role provides primary leadership for the Student Activities Council (SAC), ensuring the consistent delivery of high-impact, high-frequency programming that enhances campus life.

Through a structured programming model, this position oversees both large-scale signature events and ongoing, rapid-deploy programmatic opportunities, resulting in a visible and consistent student experience across the academic calendar. The Director also leads the execution of New Student Orientation (NSO) as a foundational engagement experience and oversees co-curricular communication and engagement platforms, including Wildcat Life (Modern Campus: Involve), to maximize student participation, awareness, and overall program effectiveness.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Student Activities Council (Primary Focus)
    • Lead and advise the Student Activities Council (SAC) in the planning, production, and execution of a robust calendar of student programming
    • Ensure consistent weekly and weekend programming, increasing both frequency and visibility of student involvement opportunities
    • Develop and implement a tiered programming model, including: o Signature, large-scale campus events o High-frequency, rapid-deploy (“pop-up”) programming designed to maintain consistent student involvement
    • Recruit, train, and supervise SAC student leaders to effectively produce events at scale
    • Provide on-site leadership and assessment of programs to ensure quality and effectiveness
    • Oversee SAC-led Homecoming programming and other major campus traditions 
  • Strategic Programming Expansion
    • Identify gaps in the campus calendar and deploy targeted programming to increase involvement continuity, particularly during weekends
    • Collaborate with Conference Services and campus partners to align programming with institutional schedules
    • Expand overall student involvement by increasing the total number and consistency of co-curricular offerings
    • Partner with campus departments to enhance and elevate existing events, while increasing SAC’s visible contribution and leadership to overall campus programming 
  • New Student Orientation (NSO)
    • Provide leadership for the development and execution of New Student Orientation (NSO) (aka: Wildcat Welcome Week and Wildcat Welcome Weekend)
    • Recruit, train, and supervise student leaders responsible for NSO programming
    • Coordinate with campus partners to ensure a cohesive and effective onboarding experience for new students
    • Collaborate with Conference Services and campus stakeholders to execute logistics and scheduling 
  • Communication & Engagement Platforms
    • Oversee campus-wide co-curricular communication platforms such as Wildcat Life (Modern Campus: Involve) and the Wildcat Life Now email as tools to increase visibility and participation in student programming
    • Ensure accurate and strategic promotion of events to maximize student awareness and attendance 
  • Assessment & Reporting
    • Track and report key metrics including: o Number of events produced
    • Student attendance and engagement levels o Frequency and consistency of programming
    • Utilize data to continuously refine and expand programming output 
  • Leadership & Administration
    • Co-supervise (with Associate Dean of Student Involvement) Graduate Assistant to extend programming capacity and support increased frequency of SAC-led initiatives
    • Manage budgets associated with SAC, NSO, and any other programming initiatives
    • Attend and support evening and weekend programming as required
    • Participate in departmental and institutional initiatives supporting student success 
  • Supervisory responsibility overseeing graduate assistant

Education

  • Master’s degree required (higher education, student development or related area)

Experience

  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in co-curricular education
  • Experience in developing Christian servant leadership
