Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend and lead all required class sessions
• Promptly assess student coursework and submit via Brightspace (the university’s learning management system)
• Coordinate with Division Chair and/or Academic Dean regarding classroom or student issues in a timely manner 

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology or closely related field

Experience

• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level preferred. Ability to implement effective teaching strategies

Required Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to foster a supportive learning environment for students, and collaboratively work with other faculty members and staff
• Ability to use learning management systems, various Microsoft applications for lectures, and Microsoft Outlook for emails
• Proficiency with laboratory techniques and equipment
• Attention to detail in grading and record-keeping
