Job Title: Academic Program Manager

Reporting Relationship: Director of Academic Operations

Unit: National & Global

Department: School of Integrated Learning

Campus Location: NGM Building

Summary of Position:    Reporting to the Director of Academic Operations, the Academic Program Manager will work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff to support current academic operations in fulfillment of the responsibilities of their role. The manager will oversee the tracking of students in the pre-education program to ensure successful transition to undergraduate licensure education programs. This position will also track initial and advanced program licensing activities related to program requirements and state licensing laws, and will represent IWU as an Indiana and Ohio Licensing Advisor. The manager will also provide tracking and managerial support for clinical experiences.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee online pre-education program activities:
    • Track & monitor all online pre-education students
    • Collect and manage education programs admissions documents (vaccination records, background checks, etc.)
    • Ensure students are transitioned to the appropriate education program (program change, enrollment, registration, etc.
    • Address questions and concerns from prospective and enrolled pre-education students
  • Manage licensing activities:
    • Track all licensure candidate's content and pedagogy testing
    • Make decisions on program withdrawals based on test completions
    • Collect and submit testing scores to update candidates' program progress
    • Monitor and transmit regular communication regarding testing due dates
    • Review candidate applications for licensure
    • Respond to all licensure candidate questions and concerns
  • Support the Office of Clinical Experiences (OCE)
    • Assist in maintaining (OCE) student and administrative handbooks
    • Collect and manage education programs admissions documents
    • Provide tracking support for clinical experiences
  • Provide support for prospective and on-going grant, program, and academic operations opportunities (data collection, tracking, reporting, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

Experience

  • Previous experience working with basic information technologies (such as email, word/pdf documents, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • P-12 education experience or higher education experience preferred

Required Skills

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Possess excellent writing skills
