Job Title: Advanced Data Analyst

Reporting Relationship: VPAA - National & Global

Summary of Position:    The data analyst acquires and analyzes relevant administrative and educational performance data so as to provide useful and appropriate information for decision makers. He/she leverages software systems to prepare data visualizations and reports that communicate essential information. He/she may also provide training assistance to College of Adult & Professional Studies (CAPS) personnel related software, data analysis, and interpretation. In addition, the successful analyst will recommend appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and communicating valid and reliable information.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize automated processes for data collection, cleaning, and reporting across systems such as Brightspace D2L, Salesforce, and local databases 
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to align analytics and data visualization's with curriculum and instructional design strategies 
  • Collect, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources to generate accurate and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders 
  • Work with enterprise systems including Brightspace D2L, Salesforce, and Microsoft Power Platform (or equivalent) to ensure seamless data integration and reporting 
  • Conduct data audits and maintain data integrity and compliance with institutional and accreditation standards 
  • Collaborate with IT and Institutional Research teams to optimize data storage, security, and retrieval

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of technical experience in data analysis, reporting, or related areas
  • Experience working within higher education, institutional research, or educational analytics is preferred
  • Familiarity or prior experience with accreditation processes, assessment of learning outcomes, and compliance reporting in higher education contexts is preferred

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in statistical and data analysis (e.g., Microsoft Excel, R or RStudio, Python, SAS, and SPSS or Stata)
  • Strong proficiency in data visualization and analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience with automating data workflows and utilizing generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools to optimize institutional outcomes (e.g., Power Automate)
  • Experience with data integration tools such as APIs, SQL queries, or other automation frameworks (Power Automate, Microsoft Power Platform)
