Job Title: Digital Content Strategist

Reporting Relationship: Executive Director of Digital and Performance Marketing

Unit: Central Administration

Department: Marketing Operations-Central Administration

Campus Location: Maxwell Center, Marion, IN with hybrid schedule (2 days in office / 3 days remote).

Summary of Position:    The Content Specialist is responsible for managing the research and development of digital centric content. As the Content Specialist you will work with the project partners to ensure all content is an accurate representation of all required pieces while maintaining the highest SEO standards. The content specialist will be responsible for creating and executing a digital content calendar to ensure regularly produced content to help drive high converting traffic


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create Content Across Various platforms email, web, and social media 
  • Assists in the creation and deployment of marketing emails campaigns 
  • Work cross department, with project partners and the digital team to ensure all goals and required elements are met 
  • Develop content strategies based on research to help reach program/initiative’s target audiences 
  • Ensure all content SEO standards are met to highest level of accuracy 
  • A/B test messaging and content areas to refine content approach 
  • Work with leadership, project partners, and key stockholders to develop and refine a content calendar to ensure accurate and fresh content 
  • Tracking and Reporting on consumer and content analytics 

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related discipline (Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or similar fields)

Experience

  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience in a communication, writing or similar roles
  • Experience with a web analytics platform: Adobe Marketing Suite, Google Analytics, AdWords, etc.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (CascadeCMS, Wordpress, etc.)
  • Exposure to other online and digital marketing disciplines, such as SEM, SEO, social media, etc.
  • Experience with web analytics, tag management systems, and/or data integrations

Required Skills

  • Ability to think analytically to identify and solve problems
  • Deep knowledge of SEO content and Conversion Optimization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey analytics concepts and analysis to non-experts
  • Ability to travel as required to meet with vendors and service providers and to represent IWU at designated conferences, meetings, and events
  • Skilled communicator with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skill
