Job Title: Public Health Adjunct Faculty

Reporting Relationship: Associate Dean Nurse Practitioner Programs

Unit: National & Global

Department: CAPS-Nursing PYC-NGBL

Campus Location: Online/Remote

Summary of Position: The adjunct faculty position in public health in the School of Integrated Health (SIH) and will educate adult learners through teaching in an online modality the foundations of public health. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the public health specialization in the academic public health certificate program. Additional responsibilities may include facilitating ongoing curriculum development and improvement, presenting seminars, leading courses, attending meetings online, and serving within the School of Integrated Health as needed. Successful candidates must be committed to a Christ-centered approach to education and in agreement with the Wesleyan theological perspective.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • 100% - Serve as an adjunct for the public health programs - (Essential)
  • 100% - Facilitate online courses in public health - (Essential)
  • 100% - Attend adjunct meetings per the program director - (Essential)
  • 100% - Evaluate student work through timely and meaningful feedback - (Essential)
  • 100% - Provide oversight to program director regarding public health best practices - (Essential)
  • 100% - Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Division of Nursing and Associate Dean with oversight of the public health program(s). - (Essential)

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Master's Degree in Public Health or related field required; PhD or Doctorate of Public Health or related field preferred

Experience

  • Experience teaching using an online modality
  • Substantial evidence of effective Public Health practices
  • An appreciation for the interests of working adults
  • An awareness of higher education academic and administrative processes with an understanding of public health certification process
  • A solid track record as a collaborative leader with effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and a strong interest in realizing IWU's institutional learning outcomes
