Summary of Position: Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University, a leading evangelical seminary in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition and the official seminary of The Wesleyan Church, seeks a passionate and innovative faculty member for a full-time position in Christian Leadership to begin July 1, 2025 (pending final budgetary approval). We are looking for someone who resonates deeply with our mission to equip Christian leaders for missional ministry locally and globally. The ideal candidate will possess effective pastoral ministry expertise and experience and demonstrate a passion for developing leaders who can serve effectively in diverse ministry contexts, integrating sound theology, spiritual formation, and practical leadership. Please prepare a cover letter, a one-page statement summarizing your philosophy of seminary education within the Wesleyan tradition, and a curriculum vitae (including education; relevant teaching, ministry, and volunteer experience; scholarship and publications; and references). Duties and Responsibilities
A teaching load of 21 credit hours per 12-month contract period
Oversight of Leadership courses; development of additional course offerings in Leadership, and related subject areas
Additional teaching in the areas of Christian ministry and spiritual formation
Contribution to program assessment and review processes
Relevant institutional committee work and service, and relevant scholarly activity
Note: This position requires relocation to the region and regular presence on IWU’s campus in Marion, Indiana
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
PhD or DMin in Christian Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Practical Theology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
Experience
Significant experience in pastoral ministry and leadership development in the local church
A heart for the local church and training pastors and Christian leaders
Required Skills
Demonstrated ability to teach effectively, especially online, at the graduate level, with a student-centered approach. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and students from diverse communities and cultures
Enthusiastic embrace of the Wesleyan tradition and ability to function well within a learning community hosted by The Wesleyan Church
Adept with educational technologies such as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel), online learning management systems, and other supplemental tools (e.g. audio and/or video recording)
