Job Title: Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Leadership Programs

Summary of Position: Full-time faculty member contributing to the quality and relevance of graduate and undergraduate program offerings related to leadership within the Division of Leadership and Followership Studies. Faculty member will a fill Program Director Role for the leadership programs, both current and future. Current programs include the Master’s of Public Administration with specializations in Criminal Justice, Non-Profit Leadership, and Public Management, Master’s of Organizational Leadership, Master’s of Sports Leadership, Bachelor’s of Organizational Leadership, and Bachelor’s of Service and Leadership. The role is a distance faculty position, but some teaching assignments and administrative responsibilities may have onsite, face-to-face components. The position may have some responsibilities and opportunities within the Division’s PhD in Organizational Leadership or other programs as negotiated with the Division Chair.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach assigned courses equivalent at least 60 workshops per year
Attend other in-person activities at the main campus in Marion, IN or other IWU Educational centers as required by the university (usually no more than 3 times per year)
Integrate Christian faith with learning for all subjects taught
Develop courses related to subjects that are taught
Serve as Director of assigned programs within the division
Provide oversight of existing programs, specializations, and courses
Assist with budget and financial management for current and future program(s)
Mentor adjunct faculty
Assist with curriculum maintenance and development
Assist with program evaluation
Assist with new program development
Serve in the Academic Leader role for course revisions and new development for up to 4 courses per year
Participate in faculty development and university faculty meetings
Participate in university and committee assignments
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair and/or the DBTL Dean
Conduct research in public administration, leadership, or related disciplines
Publish or present on a regular basis in scholarly journals or at scholarly conferences
Potential opportunities within the PhD program as assigned by the Division Chair include but are not limited to:
Teach doctoral level courses
Teach at the week-long summer PhD residency each year
Serve as a member of PhD comprehensive exam committees
Supervise dissertation research in committee member and chair roles
Review and approve applicants to the doctoral program

Education
Doctorate in public administration, organizational leadership or closely related field
Experience
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Significant public administration, leadership, or managerial experience, measured by both length of service and level of responsibility
A record of effective teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level
An active scholarship agenda that includes research, publications, presentations and service
Required Skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Strong technological skills including electronic communication media and learning management systems
Potential to teach doctoral level courses and contribute to other doctoral level activities such as comprehensive exam committees and dissertation committees
