Summary of Position: The School of Educational Leadership and Division of Liberal Arts at Indiana Wesleyan University is seeking qualified applicants for part-time, adjunct-level teaching positions. The person appointed to this position will teach undergraduate level Spanish courses. Qualified applicants are expected to present evidence of Spanish language proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing as well as any P-16 teaching experience.
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
Required: Master’s degree in Spanish or a Master’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish. (Degree(s) must be from a regionally accredited institution.)
Preferred: Doctoral degree in Spanish or a Doctoral degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish, (Degree(s) must be from a regionally accredited institution.)
Experience
Required: At least one year of P-16 Spanish teaching experience.
Preferred: Five or more years of P-16 Spanish teaching experience. Preference will be given to those that have demonstrated experience teaching at the college or university level.
Required Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of online educational delivery tools
Demonstrated teaching abilities
Demonstrated higher education experience
Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft products
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learners
Demonstrated a commitment to building and cultivating diversity through leadership, teaching and/or service
