Summary of Position: This Enrollment Counselor position plays a vital role in guiding high school graduates through the college admissions process from initial inquiry to enrollment. This position represents the university at recruitment events, college fairs, transfer fairs, and campus visit days with the importance of serving as the primary point of contact for prospective students, families and high school or community college counselors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct virtual and in person admission appointment, interviews, and information sessions
Manage an assigned territory or program portfolio to meet or exceed enrollment key performing indicators (KPIs)
Represent the university at recruitment events, college fairs, and campus visit days (some travel required)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in financial aid, advising and evaluation to ensure a seamless student experience
Apply the enrollment and contact strategies to serve students in a timely manner through the process of discovery, admissions, and enrollment process
Coach students through a healthy process of discovery and exploration on their education options, which include building rapport, uncovering concerns, exploring students learning styles
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
Bachelor's degree required
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Enrollment Counselor II with IWU; or three (3) years of commensurate experience higher education enrollment, recruitment or equivalent
Required Skills
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Proficiency with technology and multi-tasking skills
Commitment to providing outstanding service to students and stakeholders.
Willingness to work evenings and/or weekend for events and peak recruitment periods
