Summary of Position: The Technical Director is primarily responsible for supervision and implementation of all production elements (lighting, sound, & media) of the Chapel Auditorium and worship events.
Duties and Responsibilities
Produce and manage all technical aspects (Sound, Light, & Media) that occur in the Chapel Auditorium including, but not limited to: Chapel services, worship events, external contracts, and all campus events
Facilitate all technical aspects of worship events that occur anywhere on campus including the Student Center and outdoor locations
Recruit, train, and supervise IWU students in technical skills necessary to facilitate events, including ensuring that safety protocols are established and followed
Managerial functions:
monitor the inventory, condition of the equipment assigned with oversight
arrange for the repair and replacement within the budgetary restraints
perform preventive maintenance on equipment
work with the Office Manager and Executive Director of Event & Conference Services in preparing and implementing the Chapel Auditorium/Worship budget
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
Bachelors Degree Required
Certification on sound, lighting, video equipment and rigging preferred, but not required
Experience
Prior experience working with sound, lighting, & Media Equipment in a live environment is needed to be successful in the position
