Job Title: Military Partnership Executive

Reporting Relationship: Director of Enrollment Pipelines

Unit: National & Global

Department: Strategic Enrollment & Partnerships

Campus Location: Online/Remote but with residence in Indiana, Ohio, or Kentucky

Summary of Position:    This external outreach position represents N&G’s programs and initiatives to the military community, including active service members, reservists, veterans, spouses/dependents, and military organizations and agencies, with the aim of developing enrollment pipelines. The position is assigned to external outreach, lead acquisition, and partnership development efforts to support military-student enrollment within the Midwest region. The position requires extensive travel, in-person engagement, partnership development, and enrollment-related responsibilities. Further, the position coordinates partnership development activities with academic and university leaders, with the intent to align academic programs and initiatives with enrollment pipelines.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Market Awareness
    • Identifies prospective partners organizations, agencies, military installations, alumni, and friends of the university within the assigned region to build a strategic approach to partnerships and enrollment pipelines
    • Strategically engages in awareness events (e.g., career and education fairs, association meetings, etc.)
    • Identifies and executes lead generation events, experiences, and other efforts to support market awareness 
  • Partnerships
    • Actively seeks and develops partnerships with military-related organizations, such as military installations, agencies, and non-profits, to create enrollment pipelines
    • Within this work, engages in the following activities:
      • Development by creating and executing direct university-to-organization contact and development strategies to engage prospective partners, nurture key relationships, present IWU-N&G offerings, and guide the prospective partner through the partnership development funnel and increase enrollment
      • Executes these strategies with the goal to meet performance targets, including the number of partnerships and students enrolled in degrees 
    • Onboarding and engagement support onboarding of a new partner
    • Provides ongoing communication with partners to ensure engagement, optimize the relationship, and ensure long-term enrollment success 
  • Recruitment Strategies
    • Actively engages in military student recruitment efforts through direct university-to-student and university-to-partner contact
    • Within this work, engages in the following activities:
      • Partner & influencer recruitment to develop a custom recruitment strategy that will effectively communicate to partner associates IWU programs and deliverables
      • Creates customized presentations and recruitment materials for partners
      • Carries out recruitment activities with partner organizations by working with internal influencers and decisionmakers
      • Serves as an IWU representative to organizations and events as requested from time to time
    • Student recruitment by actively developing new pipelines for recruiting individual students
    • Creates customized presentations and recruitment materials for these efforts
    • Plans and conducts onsite and virtual presentations and information meetings
    • Registers for, attends, and maintains exhibit space at education, benefit, career, transfer, and other fairs and conferences, as applicable
  • Internal Partners
    • Build strong relationships with enrollment leaders, counselors, and support staff to promote enrollment aims
    • Collaborates with academic and university leaders to design and execute outreach strategies
    • Collaborates with the student support leadership and staff to design and implement military-student support strategies
    • Advises on student perspectives and needs relative to university support services 
  • Data Management
    • Maintains records on recruitment and account activity through the N&G CRM, Salesforce
    • Tracks lead and contact data to support reporting, trend analysis, and relationship management
    • Develops and tracks weekly, monthly, and annual benchmarks supporting development goals
    • Maintains an accurate accounting of all partners in the various tracking systems  
  • Work Environment
    • Work primarily remotely
    • 50% - 75% travel required
    • Possible evening, weekend, and overnight travel required 
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in sales, marketing, college recruitment, and/or public relations
  • Preference is given to individuals with significant military experience in either active, reserve, or national guard
  • The employee must maintain a positive relationship with the military (i.e., not dishonorably discharged)

  • Superior communication skills (spoken, written, group, and individual.)
