Job Title: IT Security & Systems Administrator

Reporting Relationship: Director of IT Network Services & Enterprise Systems

Summary of Position:    The IT Security & Systems Administrator is responsible for day-to-day operations in IWU’s on-prem datacenter, IWU’s cloud environment, and the administration of security standards and remediation's requested by IWU’s CISO. This position will work with peers on the Enterprise Systems team to accomplish these tasks. This position will be expected to help develop and maintain best practices for systems administration and security administration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and other data center system problems, and replace defective components when necessary Administration of Microsoft 365 services (Azure etc.)
  • Assist with lifecycle management for all servers and storage devices
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures for the Enterprise Systems team & Information Security Utilize electronic tools to create, schedule, trace and maintain project plans
  • Regular reporting to IT leadership and key users on project statuses will be expected
  • Works with vendors and clients to diagnose and resolve problems and security events
  • Assist in the administration of information security application suite (Antivirus, Security Awareness platform, alerting, syslog etc.)
  • Professional Development-Responsible for maintaining an ongoing personal professional development plan to keep up to date on security and related skills/fields
  • Assist with patching of enterprise systems and environment and the auditing of patching status for IT systems Monitor and report on CVEs and track mitigation efforts
  • Monitor and assist with mitigating IT security risks (employee travel, compliance etc.)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of experience in a related field

Experience

  • Two (2+) years in Systems Administration
  • Two (2+) years in Network Administration
  • Experience in Information Security
  • Prior experience managing technical projects
  • Network/Security/Sysadmin relevant certifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles

Required Skills

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to carry 35lbs regularly
  • Azure (or other cloud) administration
  • VMware administration
  • Network administration
  • Information security incident response
  • Security auditing/investigation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work in resolving technical crisis
  • Excellent ability to prioritize conflicting demands from projects and operational work
