Job Title: Accounting Clerk/Cashier

Reporting Relationship: Manager of Student Accounts and Billing

Unit: IWU-Marion

Department: Student Accounts-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Barnes Student Center

Summary of Position:    This position serves students by providing accurate account information and student cashiering needs. In addition, this position serves the IWU-Marion campus for departmental cashiering needs.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides timely front-line customer service to external and internal customers
    • Phone, email, and in person 
  • Receipting of payments or disbursements to/from AR accounts and GL accounts
    • Student payments
    • Voucher and third party payments
    • Collection agency monthly installment/payments
    • Cashing checks
    • Departmental deposits
    • Cash advance fund disbursements
    • Miscellaneous funds 
  • Balance daily cashier sessions 
  • Reconcile Webcashier and Payment Plans 
  • Assist with the management of student holds
  • Scan/link office documents to the document imaging system
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • On occasion, this position may be required to work on Saturdays for University events

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Associate's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Prefer one to two (1-2) years of experience with bookkeeping.
