Job Title: Faculty Support Specialist

Reporting Relationship: Executive Director, Student and Faculty Support Services

Unit: National & Global

Department: Student Experience

Campus Location: NGM Building

Summary of Position:    The faculty support specialist is responsible for the key faculty coordination activities, including scheduling assigned instructors to courses, assisting faculty with resolving problems, and processing adjunct instructor payroll. The faculty support specialist will periodically review instructor’s activity to ensure that expectations set by the schools for instructing the course are met.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify courses in need of faculty, send offers and contracts to adjunct instructors 
  • Ensure faculty have the correct materials, order materials and follow-up as necessary
  • Enter adjunct pay for courses assigned
  • Review faculty course schedules to comply with ACA guidelines regularly and assign position pay codes 
  • Schedule substitute or replacement instructors as needed

Education

  • Associate Degree Required; Bachelor Preferred

Experience

  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to set and reset priorities in a fast-paced, multi-task work environment
  • Ability to attend to details with a high level of accuracy
  • Sensitivity for managing confidential information
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel
  • Experience working within a database environment helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies or issues and propose solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently
