Summary of Position:    Indiana Wesleyan University seeks applications for an adjunct faculty position in Computer Information Sciences on the Marion, Indiana campus. The ideal candidate will combine engaging teaching with student mentoring. Applicants should show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, comfort with Wesleyan-Arminian theology, and commitments to liberal learning and the integration of Christian faith in teaching and practice.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Job responsibilities include teaching 1-3 sections of computer and information science courses per semester at all undergraduate levels and student mentoring. The Division of Mathematics and Computer Information Sciences offers majors in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, Mathematics-Interdisciplinary, Mathematics Education, and Engineering, minors in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, and Statistics, and also teaches general education courses. The Division has 6.5 full-time faculty and approximately 55 major students.  

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Minimum of 18 graduate hours in a field closely related to computer science required
  • Master's degree preferred

Experience

  • Prior undergraduate teaching experience preferred
