Job Title: Administrative Assistant to Financial Aid

Reporting Relationship: Associate Director of Financial Services - IWU-Marion

Unit: IWU-Marion

Department: Financial Aid-CAS-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Barnes Student Center

Summary of Position:    The Administrative Assistant serves Indiana Wesleyan University's Marion Campus student population by assisting the IWU-Marion Financial Aid Office with front-line customer service, document management and report generation.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides front-line customer service to external and internal customers 
  • Coordinates student employee schedules, ensuring coverage in the front office 
  • Maintains the document imaging process, including scanning incoming paper documents and indexing imaged forms to student files
  • Reviews incoming documents for completeness and accuracy and logs receipt of those documents
  • Prepares and reviews various reports
  • Reconciles monthly purchasing card transactions 
  • Answers main Financial Aid office phone-line and provides general student financial aid information 
  • Provides additional administrative support for Financial Services as directed 
  • This staff position is responsible for managing a team of student employees and the associated budget

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to work with office management software, enterprise software, and various web-based informational systems

Required Skills

Microsoft Office and other computer software applications experience
Consistent accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Effective customer service skills
Ability to keep sensitive information secure and private
Sound problem solving skills and ability to take initiative
