Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist (Part-time)

Reporting Relationship: Executive Director of Student Account Services

Unit: National & Global

Department: Student Account Services

Campus Location: NGM Building

Summary of Position:    The purpose of the Accounts Receivable Specialist is to assist the Executive Director with tasks that support effective management of student accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review the ARTB and/or AGBL reports to identify students who need additional attention to resolve their account balance.
    • Review the accounts to identify the causative issue.
    • Take the action needed to resolve the balance.
    • Assign the account to the appropriate team for follow-up 
  • Manage deposit balances 
  • Review and approve refunds 
  • Make adjustments needed for monthly accounts receivable reports provided by the controller’s office 
  • Audit accounts for the collection process 
  • Perform deceasing and duplicate account reviews
  • Scan documents for Etrieve 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director 

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.


  • Associate’s degree or the equivalent


  • Two (2) years’ experience in a related field

Required Skills

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
  • Be a resourceful problem-solver/analytical thinker
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
