Job Title: Advanced Health Assessment Course Adjunct Faculty - Onsite

Reporting Relationship: Dean, Division of Masters of Nursing with supervision by the Associate Dean of Nurse Practitioner Programs (or designee).

Department: School of Nursing - Graduate

Campus Location: Marion (IN), Greenwood (IN), Merrillville (IN), Louisville (KY)

Summary of Position:    Adjunct faculty for the Division of Masters Nursing in the School of Nursing at Indiana Wesleyan University will be responsible for teaching adult students onsite/online the curriculum established by the master nursing faculty in our facilitator model of instruction as opportunities become available.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate content expertise in the subject area, teaching in the nurse practitioner programs online/onsite. 
  • Supervise and evaluate student progress to ensure a positive and favorable learning environment and facilitate student success 
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and professional staff 
  • Demonstrate a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ to students as related to life and learning and incorporate Biblical principles and prayer into teaching content
  • Responsible for student evaluation and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development, including but not limited to required faculty development opportunities
  • Complete other tasks as assigned - (Essential)

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

• Earned doctorate preferred with an advanced degree in nursing required (Masters or Doctorate)

Experience

• Teaching and instructional strategies for the online and onsite classroom/environment
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
• Ability to communicate and problem-solve professionally while maintaining the confidentiality of vital information
• Proficient and functional knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook)

Required Skills

• Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner; other advanced practice nurse certifications may be considered for select courses.
• Evidence of five years of clinical practice
• Faculty must maintain an active, unencumbered RN license and appropriate certification in their state of residence (Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, [southern] Michigan, or Illinois).
