Job Title: Wesley Seminary Christian Ministries Faculty (Adjunct)

Reporting Relationship: Vice President of Academic Affairs, Wesley Seminary

Unit: Wesley Seminary

Department: Ministry & Divinity

Campus Location: Online/Remote

Summary of Position:   Christian Ministries Adjunct Faculty will share Wesley Seminary’s commitment to preparing Christian leaders to engage in missional ministry locally and globally; hold a terminal degree in their area of teaching; and affirm their agreement with Wesley Seminary’s Statement of Faith and Community Standards.

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

• Doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, ThD, EdD, DMin)

Experience

• Teaching experience preferred
• Practical ministry and leadership experience in local church and/or other ministerial settings
• Familiarity with and affinity for the Wesleyan theological tradition
• Demonstrated scholarly competence in one or more of the following areas:
     o Biblical Studies
     o Children, Youth & Family Ministry 
     o Christian Theology
     o Church History
     o Church Planting & Multiplication
     o Intercultural Studies
     o Leadership
     o Pastoral Care
     o Pastoral Ministry
     o Preaching
     o Spiritual Formation
     o Wesley Studies
     o Worship Arts

Required Skills

• Demonstrated teaching abilities in classroom and in online environment preferred (not required)
• Demonstrated knowledge and use of online educational delivery tools (e.g. Zoom Live Chat or similar video chat tool, Microsoft Products, etc.)
• Demonstrated knowledge of higher education and adult learners
• Demonstrated love for the Church and desire to contribute to the growth of the Kingdom
• Agreement with the Wesley Seminary Ethos Statement, University's Employment Standards and Community Lifestyle Statement
