Job Title: English as a New Language Adjunct Faculty

Summary of Position:    The School of Educational Leadership (SoEL) at Indiana Wesleyan University invites
applications for adjunct faculty teaching positions in the area of English as a New Language.
Adjunct faculty will facilitate learning in the Licensure and Non-Licensure English as a New
Language graduate programs in courses that address language acquisition, culture, assessment,
instructional strategies, and partnerships in an online teaching modality.

Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.


  • Required: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education or a closely related field and either 18 graduate hours in
    ENL or a P-12 teaching licensure or endorsement in TESOL/ENL


  • Work Experience: A minimum of three (3) years P-12 teaching experience on a standard
    teaching license, including academic credentialing in the area of English as a New Language.

  • Higher Education Experience: Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated
    experience teaching graduate level courses for an accredited college or university. Additionally,
    preference will be given to those who have online teaching experience.

  • Professional Credentials/License: English as a New Language state licensure; may be expired;
    Indiana licensure preferred.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of online educational delivery tools.
  • Demonstrated teaching abilities.
  • Demonstrated higher education experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learners
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Zoom Live Chat or similar video chat tool
