Summary of Position:    The Floor Care Technician will inspect, direct, and coordinate the completion of floor care cleaning processes of all floor surface care on campus. This includes but is not limited to the cleaning of carpets, stripping and finishing of hard surface floors and all task functions associated with floor care. The Floor Care Technician will provide quality control, scheduling and implementation of floor care reporting designated and specified by the Director of Housekeeping. The Floor Care Technician will have the accountability of maintaining the chemical supplies necessary for campus floor care needs.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will inspect, direct, and coordinate the completion of floor care cleaning processes of all floor surface care on campus.
  • Includes but is not limited to the cleaning of carpets, stripping and finishing of hard surface floors and all task functions associated with floor care.
  • Provide quality control, scheduling and implementation of floor care.
  • Have the accountability of maintaining the chemical supplies necessary for campus floor care needs.
  • Technician should possess expert knowledge of the floor care industry.
  • Ability to utilize floor care equipment and provide an exceptional display of floor care finishes for campus presentations.
  • Analytical skills required for chemical product usage, problem solving and timely decision making in order to make the most cost-effective decisions pertaining to scheduling and cleaning of floor care and campus usage.
  • Ability to work closely with other team members to accomplish tasks and to fulfill obligations to campus customers.
  • May be required to work overtime as directed by supervision. - (Essential)

Education

• High School Diploma

Experience

• 1-3 years floor care experience preferred

Required Skills

• Ability to continuously bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods of time.
• Requires the physical endurance of lifting and transporting heavy equipment in excess of 70 pounds upstairs on a continued basis.
• Ability to work a flex schedule.
• Exposed to chemical applications and applicant must be in good general health and not show allergic reactions to chemical substances utilized to perform assigned tasks.
