The Coach must continually seek opportunities to grow and possess strong character traits through the regular practicing of the spiritual disciplines (e.g., prayer, meditation, Bible reading) and develop ministry values that express what God can do in impacting student athletes with whom they interact.

They will also need to be able to develop a recruitment plan aimed at accomplishing our team’s recruiting goals. At Indiana Wesleyan, we believe that we have the opportunity and responsibility to disciple and mentor student-athletes as they seek to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. The sport we coach creates the environment where that discipleship is possible. In recent years, our Athletic Department has embraced an idea called the “Both/And” mentality in which we believe we can pursue both excellence in our sport AND excellence in our relationship with Jesus Christ without having to make sacrifices in either one. The ideal candidate will align with and have a desire to learn and embrace this mentality in their life and work.
